Planned Giving
Children's Medical Ministries provides free surgical, orthopedic,
and dental services, medicine, food, and clothing to children in
America and developing countries.
Did You Know?
- $10 buys one pair of shoes for a shoeless child to prevent
hookworm (globally, about 1 billion people are infected with
hookworm)
- $30 provides clothes, food and school supplies for two
orphans to attend school for one month
- $50 refurbishes one wheelchair (it is estimated that 60
million people in the world need wheelchairs)
- $100 will provide 50 personal health care kits (kits contain
basic health care tools such as toothbrush, toothpaste, soap,
shampoo, etc., to implement the steps of the primary health care
book.)
$230 buys 1000 primary health care books (42,000 to 50,000
children die every day from preventable diseases); this
bi-lingual coloring book for children ages 5-7 contains
illustrations of basic health care functions, such as brushing
teeth, washing hands, $1,000 will drill a well and buy a pump in
a village with 50 families.
- $6,500 will buy multi-chewable vitamins with fluoride for
1,000 children for one year.
Accomplishments
- Furnished dental and related equipment for three dental
clinics located in the National Capital area that serve the poor
and needy.
- Distributed 100,000 personal health care kits and primary
health care coloring books to orphans and displaced children in
10 developing countries and the United States.
- Provided general hospital and specialized burn equipment and
services valued at $1.1 million to start the National Burn
Center of Bangladesh. Received national recognition through news
releases, TV and radio.
- Provided 6 containers of food, clothing and medicine to the
survivors of the Bangladesh cyclone that killed 150,000 people.
Received national recognition on TV and radio.
- Provided funds and medical equipment for a new children's
hospital in Shenyang, China. Received recognition from regional,
district and local authorities.
- Distributed 2000 wheelchairs to victims of cerebral palsy,
polio, and landmines in Vietnam.
Upcoming Programs
- Will distribute 1000 wheelchairs to victims of polio and
cerebral palsy in Ecuador, Guatemala, and Colombia during
2000-2001.
- In process of building a youth hostel/training center in
Chang Rai, Thailand, which will accommodate 100 children.
- In planning stages for constructing, equipping and manning
an artificial limb facility in the Sahrawi Refugee Camps. This
project will include training local personnel to operate the
facility for manufacturing and fitting limbs.
